A surprisingly positive aspect when ordering from BackMarket was the fast delivery. I received my order within two days (!) and it surpassed every expectation on that matter.
I first noticed the ports on the bottom showing some signs of wear, which was fine. What wasn't within the described standards of the quality in which I ordered my phone, however, was a microphone that doesn't work in the slightest. The sound is muffled and the fix is an estimated additional +95€.
I wouldn't recommend changing a category in hopes your device doesn't arrive with a problem this severe, as it wasn't a warning or likely flaw they sign you up for in the first place. I assume responsibility over the fact that I didn't take advantage of the opportunity to send my order back despite the warranty, but by the time I noticed the issue I had already paid +50€ to add protection and transfer all my data. What I'm saying is: tread carefully, cross your fingers, and maybe refrain from ordering if you urgently need a device. Not because they delay the shipping or don't provide you with the warranty, which I didn't further explore personally and may have led to a different outcome.
But because the back-and-forth in a situation like mine may be unfeasible, and costly.
